How did you get into triathlon?
Got bored with running. Love swimming. Thought I might give it a whirl.
How long have you been doing triathlon?
ONE YEAR as of April 2008!
I think I must be going insane but I'm starting to appreciate them all for different reasons.
Do you have training partners?
Jill, Jami, Stephen (well, he's too fast for us now but that's ok), Meghan, Tiff (too fast... but still), Barbie, Chuck/Michelle/LJ/Murphy/Casey
Austin 3M Half Marathon 2008- 1:50 (8:25 pace, which is good for me!)
Frederick MD Marathon Mar. 2003. I did it in 4:57 and had hypothermia afterwards. It wasn't even the race I trained for, which got cancelled the week before, due to security concerns.
Why you do triathlons?
In college an ex told me about how his dad had trained for and competed in this thing called "Ironman" in Hawaii, involving a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and full marathon. I thought 'that's just sick', and knew I had to do one one day. I'm working towards it....baby steps!
What's next for you?
Vineman 2008. And I think in the offseason this winter I might refocus on running and try to qualify for Boston. Keyword is 'try'.
Most embarrassing moment doing sports?
I was being a jackass and hurdling over the tennis net for fun. My foot caught the net mid-jump, and I proceeded to slam my face into the ground.
Running Shoe that you wear?
New Balance and Saucony. You Mizuno-wearing people must have the highest freaking arches.
What time do you wake up?
Exactly 35 minutes before I have to be at a workout.
Favorite song to train to?
All! But I noticed that MosDef's Black on Both Sides album is a great one to run to bc it keeps a pretty steady beat throughout.

1) Running 2) swimming 3) cycling
What kind of food do you eat during a workout?
Infinite powder mixed with my water works for rides. Snickers marathon bars, clif bars, shot blocks, or gu before/during runs.
