How did you get into triathlon?
I was a swimmer in high school, started running after college, then bought a bike when I moved to Dallas a few years ago.

How long have you been doing triathlon?
Three years.

Favorite workout?
Sunday morning long runs including post-workout pancakes.

Do you have training partners?
I run a lot with my wife, bike with a friend from work and join a lot of the Fit2Train group rides.

Best Race?
Iron Mountain Half in DeGray Lake, AR '07. I swam with the lead group, didn't get passed by too many people on the bike, and managed to squeak out 2nd place. I was in the lead for a few miles, but wussed out and got passed with a couple miles to go.

Worst Race?
IMAZ '06. I flatted and crashed going around a corner on my third loop of the bike course, then had a very uncomfortable "run".

Why you do triathlons?
I'm very uncoordinated so straight ahead sports like swimming, biking and running suite me well.

What's next for you?
IMFL '07.

Most embarrassing moment doing sports?
I was late for a hockey game as a kid so I got dressed in the back of my mom's suburban on the way to the game. I rushed through the dressing room and onto the bench. When I hopped on the ice for my first shift, I still had my skate guards on (plastic covers over the skate blade, needless to say, they are VERY slippery on ice). I fell down, got up, fell down, and crawled back to the bench to much laughter from my teammates.

Running Shoe that you wear?
Nike Pegasus.

What time do you wake up?
5am on run days, 6am otherwise.

Favorite song to train to?
I don't have an iPod or anything, but I do have an inner soundtrack that plays the last song I heard before my workout started on a constant loop.

Out of all 3 sports- which is your favorite?

What kind of food do you eat during a workout?
Gu, Clif Bars/Bloks, Gatorade Endurance mostly

Favorite food (regular)?

Spouse/Significant Other?
Married, no kids yet.

Other sports interest?
Hiking/backpacking, camping, hockey, golf.

Something that you like to do that is not sports related?

Favorite TV show/movie?
That's really mood related, but Seinfeld and Simpsons rarely fail to make me laugh.

Greatest motivator?

Stettler, AB, CAN.

Interesting fact about yourself?
I recently purchased a John Deere beach cruiser bike. It's pretty sweet.

What do you like to do to get away from triathlon?
Sometimes it is nice to skip the long ride Saturday morning, sleep in, go for a nice, leisurely brunch and relax all day.
