How did you get into triathlon?
Reading an article about the Ironman. Then I saw the 1992 Hawaii Ironman on TV and I got hook.
How long have you been doing triathlon?
The long run is always a favorite. However, I enjoyed riding for 2 to 3 hrs, and then having a run of 3 to 6 miles at a healthy clip. It empowers me big time, unless of course I'm feeling crappy. In that case, I'll skip the run.
Do you have training partners?
No. This is why I join the team. Or do you prefer to train alone? I enjoy training alone but only because of work and time constraints otherwise I like training with other people.
I've done 131 triathlons and many duathlons and road races. Most of my races had been good. As long as I have a decent performance I'm happy with that. But the most celebrated one was the 1998 Hawaii Ironman - 11:43:17 hrs. My first Ironman ever...
The 1993 St. Thomas International Triathlon. My 3rd race ever. I had a decent swim, rode the bike hard and I forgot there was a 7 mile hilly run to follow… Talk about suffering!!!
