I'm a lawyer by training but I've spent the last twenty eight years trying to get over it. During the day, my husband & develop affordable housing. I also have a consulting business working with banks and non-profits in community development. I'm an independent rep for Stream Energy. In the wasted hours between midnight and 4:00 AM, I manage my son's hockey team.
How did you get into triathlon?
I went looking for 5Ks to do with my son and the pink flyer guilted me into it.
How long have you been doing triathlon?
Since roughly 8:06 AM on Saturday May 3rd.
It varies with what hurts :-) - but I really like the biking.
Do you have training partners?
Yes - the Iron Girls without whom I could not have done this! And Adrian & Brian make the Iron Girls possible.
With luck, the Iron Girl.
I hesitate to think.
Why you do triathlons?
What's next for you?
I have already conned myself into thinking of the Toyota as doable. The fact of the matter is, I really really like the people involved in this sport. I don't know if athletes are just happier and kinder than other folks or if happy, kind people become athletes.
Most embarrassing moment doing sports?
It's a toss up between crashing my bike on the first day of Iron Girl training, playing a full round of golf with split shorts or the vision of myself on Sunday in a trisuit.
Running Shoe that you wear?
They were blue and white. They are now kind of a dingy grey. Brooks would be proud.
What time do you wake up?
Usually around 5:45. I love a quiet house and my coffee.
Favorite song to train to?
I don't listen to anything - one of the joys of training is getting away from the cacophony of TV, radio, phones & 10 year old boys!
Out of all 3 sports- which is your favorite?
What kind of food do you eat during a workout?
Water and those little shots that look like jello.
Favorite food (regular)?
Unfortunately, I am the Will Rogers of food. This has made everything I am today - also unfortunate! Right off hand I can only think of three foods I DON'T like! Beets, greens and sushi.
My husband Joe who is wonderful.
Other sports interest?
I love hockey especially when it's my son I'm watching.
Something that you like to do that is not sports related?
I love to write. I read everyday and can get absolutely lost in a book. I enjoy managing Patrick's hockey team. We parents are a trial, but the boys are terrific.
Favorite TV show/movie?
I don't watch much TV. Movies: Philadelphia Story, Pursuit of Happyness, To Kill a Mockingbird, Transformers.
My fellow athletes and the way I feel about myself after a workout.
Interesting fact about yourself?
I love to hunt. Upland hunting is my favorite: quail, pheasant, partridge, grouse.
What do you like to do to get away from triathlon?
Read and do things with my family.
