How did you get into triathlon?
Needed to take a break from running so I started swimming and biking. I've wanted to do a triathlon since I was in high school.

Four years.

Favorite workout?
Long runs

Ironman Florida 2004. Everything seemed to come together nicely.

Worst Race?
Tri-America Triathlon. Zig-Zagged all over the place on the swim. Fell on the bike and by the time I made it to the run, it was 90 degrees. I got all of my bad luck out of the way on this race and had a great year after that.

Why you do triathlons?
The cross training effect, races, training with everyone.

What's next for you?
Fort Worth Cowtown Marathon

Most embarrassing moment doing sports?
Tripping on a little tree at the start of a race in High School Cross Country. Unfortunately, I did it when I was as sophomore in High School so I had to endure 2 more years of the coaches telling my story.

Something that you like to do that is not sports related?
Computer forensics

Greatest motivator?
Achieving a goal. Specifically, I have to have a goal like running a race. I try to always have an event that I'm training toward. Goals like getting faster or losing 10 pds don't seem to motivate me.

Hometown?
Little Rock, Arkansas

Interesting fact about yourself?
I've been in the Army National Guard for 18 years. I was in Kosovo in 2006.

What do you like to do to get away from triathlon?
Take kids to sports. My son plays rugby and my daughter plays soccer. Watch movies, TV.
