How did you get into triathlon?
I began Triathlons as a result of a shoulder surgery from heavy weight training. I could not lift heavy anymore and could not simply lay around the house. So why not triathlons...

How long have you been doing triathlon?
4+ years

Favorite workout?
Progressive bike/runs workouts.

Do you have training partners?
There are several team members that I appreciate there support on long training days. I have enjoyed the team training workouts as well as enjoyed the partnership and understanding..

Best Race?

Worst Race?
My worst event thus far was PM Prairie Man 2007 when I had a flat. With tubulars you dont just stop as you do with a clincher once flatted. So as I rolled through a corner at break neck speeds, my front tire lost contact with my rim and rolled off. Then down I went. Day Over!

Why you do triathlons?
The camaraderie is a plus. Of all the events I have participated with or in, the majority of people are good in nature.. When you cross the finish line, the feeling of accomplishment far exceeds the effort of sweat or sometimes pain of training....

What's next for you?
IM AZ 2010

Most embarrassing moment doing sports?
Showing up for an a.m. masters swim with my speedo on inside out. As I scurry back to the mens locker room to remedy this wardrobe malfunction, I fall and bust my butt poolside. Remember kids no running!

Running Shoe that you wear?
Suacony Tanguents & Fast Twitch Flats; never again will i wear Newtons. I was in love with the concept and not the functionality. And i may never wear Zoots again either...

What time do you wake up?
5:30 a.m. on traing days. 7-8 a.m. on off days or no a.m. training days

Favorite song to train to?
whistle while you work....

What kind of food do you eat during a workout?
Power Gels, cliff shots, Infinit

Favorite food (regular)?
Oatmeal with bluberries every a.m.

Is triathlon not enough....Soccer

Something that you like to do that is not sports related?
Rest! Hangout with friends. Swap stories and battle scars from accidents.

Favorite TV show/movie?
Do you have time for tv. A.M. news! I enjoy most movies! It is a wonderful way to escape from reality...

Greatest motivator?
My father was a silent motivator. A man of not many words, but strong words of encouragement.. He was there for my first Half in P.C. as well as my mom and gf. I also knew this Sergeant in the Army that was influential as well.

Interesting fact about yourself?
I spent 4 years in Hawaii and I never even knew anything about Triathlons. Boy did I miss out!

What do you like to do to get away from triathlon?
Spend time with good, nonjudgemental people that are real to each other. Not into the pretentious world. Trying to make it just like everyone else and have fun in the process......
